The TRANSFORM Pilot Phase in Sofia Ends Successfully

The TRANSFORM project ended at the end of December. In the pilot phase of the project in Sofia from July to December 2020, a digital simulation of 11 homes was made, which demonstrates the possibilities of using digital technologies and smart devices to reduce energy consumption. The average indicators for the reduction of electricity and heat consumption are up to 15% on an annual basis. The digital transformation will be followed by a complete renovation of the home, which will further improve the energy efficiency of the home and the building.

The project continues in 2021, and the digital transformation of another 250 homes is planned. For more information and how to join the program, visit the project page, www.jointransform.eu.

The project is funded by EIT Climate-KIC.

Let’s Transform Today for a Better Tomorrow!

This was the key message in the presentations and discussions during the final international conference of the TRANSFORM project, organized online on 16 December 2020 by Sofia Development Association and the project partners. Guests and participants in the event discussed opportunities how to use new technologies for energy retrofits and the renovation of homes and buildings. In the focus were also the results of the pilot phase in Sofia, which included a digital transformation of 10 homes in the city. The model proposed by the TRANSFORM project relies on the Internet of Things, digital simulations and smart energy services, and promises significant cost reductions and savings for households and homeowners.
